Yeah, yeah... I know ANOTHER 1938-D Buffalo, whoopty freakin doo!! You can blame @Paddy54 for this obsession, but I'm grateful to him. Anyway's what got me excited was the fact that it's in an older NGC fattie holder with the gold NGC logo hot stamped on the reverse. I don't have one with a '38-D yet, and it's my all time favorite holder. This baby also survived a recent Category 5 Hurricane to finally come home to me. It just arrived from Puerto Rico! I love the color of it, the gold toning goes well with the gold NGC logo on the back. But what really brought a smile to me face was it turned out to be a D/D RPM that I don't have yet. It's the RPM-003, the D/D is pretty strong. So for your viewing pleasure. Comments alway's welcome.
I need to introduce you and @Pickin and Grinin to the joy of collecting wooden nickels.... and maybe I could score a nice 38 D sometime before I pass on... You know wooden nickels are cheaper....your only worries is termites
Thank you! I really love it. I got lucky as I turned out to be the only bidder on it. I over paid slightly, which is probably why I was the only bidder. LOL But I did get it for less than $50.00, I paid $48.99 for it, and it was worth every penny!!
Yeah, I don't know if wooden nickels will catch my interest. I doubt they come toned or with RPM's or OMM's..
Wow no kidding, it was worth every penny! a coin that beautiful for an even more beautiful price! Thanks, Jacob
So if your secret Santa sends you a box of caryola crayons and some wooden plugs ....I'm quite sure the kids could keep daddy knee deep in toned, and variety nickels . I'll send the big box....that way they can express themselves on the living room walls.
(Gasp) (terrifying thoughts) (camera slowly and dramatically zooms out at the gasping face in true horror with deep scary organ music playing) Thanks, Jacob
If you only knew how many crayons and markers my 10 year old has..... She could seriously start an art supply store with what she has. Oh and the stories I could tell of the paintings she's done..
Ok, I can't resist telling this one... When she was around 4, I had just come home from work. When I headed for the bedroom, I noticed the bathroom door looked just wrong. It had been covered (as covered as a 4 year old can make) in a dark brown wet substance. I just about died when I saw it and immediately thought the worst. Thankfully, it turned out to only be chocolate pudding! So clean-up was not as bad as it could have been. LOL
And this is just but one many reason I never had children.....plus the fact those friends and family whom did kept me entertained with stories as such! Some were not as fortunate to have pudding used as an art media.
