Hey guys, I'd figure I'd get one last thread in before hunkering down for the storm.

I don't collect bronze coins. I still have some, but I generally keep them separate from my collection of ancient/medieval silver coins....I'm strictly a silver bug. However, @chrsmat71 sent me one so beautiful that I decided to put it in the album along with my silver collection. I honestly don't care what its made of, I'm making it part of my official collection. It is absolutely a beauty. It's a sunga cast coin from around 200 BCE.

I have not had times to take pictures of it as I've been doing storm prep all day today. But here are the pictures from @chrsmat71

I think when you see them you'll realize why I was so willing to add it to my silver collection, no questions asked, despite it being bronze. It is a desperately pretty coin.

Thank you Chrsmat71. This coin really made my day. Seeing it in my hands made me a little less stressed out on this hectic day. I'm glad it made it here without delay given the circumstances.

Nice coin. I keep mine in my main collection. But I admit I keep my byzantine cup coins separate so they don't crack/break in the binder.

Mine is more like Mat's than yours but coins of all metals are welcome in my collection so that is not a problem.

    I really like it!!!

But I'm an animal lover and who doesn't love a cool 'OLD' elephant coin!!:D

Hmmm, I sense @stevex6 lurking around somewhere and about to unleash his animal menagerie:p:)

What is the oldest elephant coin? There are several from the 2nd century BC. there are the Ptolemaic ones from c.300 and the Alexander Poros dekadrachm during his lifetime. Earlier?

    some german notgeld....

i have fun with these, i usually figure out what they say and then check out the towns, sometimes you learn interesting stuff about the symbols they chose for their currency. like what's up with that naked giant dude checking out the car? funny.

and some spanish civil war era emergency bank notes, i didn't know these existed and seem to be similar to german notgeld? i'll enjoy researching these as well!

Glad you liked the notes I picked out. I'm happy that they are going to a good home and to someone who is excited to get them and research them.

Now I just need to find a good home for a hundred or so eastern block notes, Cuban notes, and Chinese notes. This stuff was sitting in my closet for so long I almost forgot I had it. It's just not what I like to collect. I'm very happy to hear you like them.

PS: the Spanish emergency notes are from the Catalan region of Spain...hence the Catalan language and not Spanish on the notes. I noticed the similarities to the notegeld so I figured you'd like them.
