Any ideas on how to get in on the first spouse offering on June 19? I had mine reserved on the subscription program but they cancelled and now I am afraid that I will not be able to get my coins. ND any ideas? maybe the mint could offer just 1 each for the subscription holders?hya:
There will be a HUGE run and the speculators will get them all. All of us HONEST collectors who had subscriptions which the Mint canceled will get screwed.
I think demand will be heavy. You can try the internet and the phone simultaneously and see which gets through (my guess is the internet will be fastest). In a related question, which do people think will be scarcer and mor valuable: the uncirculated or the proof (I have my speculative idea on my website, but I want to hear other opinions). -- Peter Planchet
I don't see why the mint does not let subscription customers get just 1 and assure that they will get it. I for one really feel betrayed.
I can't see these selling out. If I was forced to buy one, I'd buy the uncirculated rather than the proof.
I have to say I am impressed, the mint did $33.6 million in sales today on these coins {80,000 coins at roughly $420 each}. Glad I got my few orders in before the sellout.
That's pretty amazing. Maybe it will be like the commemorative gold coin program where the number sold gradually decreased as the years went by. How many people will realistically buy every one?
