i know these have been posted years ago. i will repost them for some of the newer member. all finds while i was working at a bank. enjoy :thumb:
I've found a few entertaining notes to post. Nothing with much any wow factor but at face value there not bad.
Just curious - are you guys searching brand new straps or not? The bank I go to always has brand new bills when I ask.
For the one's that don't work at a bank or in retail that handle a lot of currency they go to a bank and withdraw several hundred at a time to look for star notes or something of interest to them. Speaking of interest i've been inundated with these 2006 $1 E/F block notes and managed to acquire these bad boys!
Got a call from the bank today that they got $6200 in old 100s. I went up there and most of them were from 1974-1990. Another teller had some older currency as well. He had 100s and 50s from the 1950s and 1960s. Here are the pictures. What should I do with them? J
I'd keep the star note and then take that $1150 and deposit it at the bank. Then I'd go find me the highest graded chief or educational note or a rare national bank note i could find for $1150. Any of those notes listed will appreciate in value far more then any of those notes you posted. Way to much face value tied up in something is easy to find in high grade. IMO
I would keep the two fifty dollar notes and the three 1969 $100 notes as they are in crisp condition and 1969 is a relatively rare series.
That is pretty much what I thought. I am also going to keep the $100 1974 J note as the serial number has no repeating numbers. J
Granted I could afford it at the time being, I'd basically keep any of the notes from the '60s. But I'd at least try to get the 2 $50's and the 2 consec '69 $100's at least. All in all, nice finds.:thumb:
I got these yesterday. I know that they are not in great shape, but I did not have either one. The $50 * from before has about ten pin holes in it. I did not see them at the bank and noticed them after I scanned it. I know that probably removes all of the value. It is cool nonetheless. J
I went through 1,500 singles today and I had some pretty nice results. They are: 1969B-2 J-* and L-A 1985-3 D-E, J-B and K-F 1988A-1 B-H 1993-1 B-A The 1969B star is the oldest star note I've ever found in circulation. Considering what a rare series 1969B is I am still surprised that I found it! Add to that I found another 1969B from a different bank today and I am still in awe over my finds as I have just found one 1969B previously out of a great many notes searched in the past. What is also interesting is that all of the above blocks are new for me as well.
