I recently found this nickel and was unfamiliar with a misstrike like this one. At first, I didn't think this was an error coin but closer examination makes me think this happened when it was struck. Any thoughts? Value?

    Thank you,
    Jeff

i would have to say that it is post mint damage because i can not think of any way it could be a mint error

Wow... somebody spent some time damaging this coin. Interesting to say the least!

Looks like what would happen when meant for a lucky charm coin.

Looking at the edge it looks like maybe they were soldered on?

Regardless, it still looks kinda cool IMO

I touched my soldering iron to it to see if it was solder. It wasn't.
