I recently got a 1935 buffalo nickel in really nice shape completely legible, but on the reverse is something strange though, theres is a perfectly stamped circle running through the united states of america on top and the 5 cents on the bottom it matches the shape of a mercury dime of the same year perfectly is this an error? or is this just tampering after the fact. and has anyone else ever ran across anything like what I described. If pics are needed I can have a friend take some in the next day or two . Thanks for the feedback in advance.

It might be damage from a coin-wrapping machine. These sometimes leave circular grooves or scratches in a coin's surface.
