I found this dime in some pocket change, and not being an expert in dimes, thought I'd ask you guys.

Is this toning cause by being next to a penny, or by paper on an end of a roll, or the mint missed a process?

    Thanks. 250FC0D9-710E-4E8D-82C2-20D64004BA54.JPG

You should not put a coin in your palm like that. You are putting finger prints and oils from your hands on the coin. hold the coin by the edge.

Lol, I understand. i just assumed it was only worth 10 cents. Any clue if this could be an error?

What does the Obverse look like?
That would be the front of the coin..

    No toning on the obverse.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

What sort of error would it be?

No, it looks like someone heated the coin to see what it would do. The un-colored spots at the top are where it was held by tongs.
