I know it's not copper. It just has that appearance ,but there is some other strange marks on Lincoln's face. The coin itself is pristine.
The coin was plated so it is hard to say if those things are a result of the plating or were actually anomalies that were plated over. Either way it really doesn't matter from the standpoint of the coin's value although it would be interesting to know if the damage came before or after the plating job. The plating reduces the value of the coin to 25 cents or so. Thanks, Bill
