Found this in a junk jar of coins my father had. The coin appears to have an extra ring or two around the outside. It is a little larger than a normal penny as the last photo shows. It almost looks like it is wearing a ring. I would think maybe someone tapped it around to get this effect but it is a little larger than a regular cent. Any Ideas on this one.
    Thanks
    Ben

It looks like a jewelry bezel has been added to it, IMO.

I thought that might be it but there is no place it was jopined or no means to tighten the coin up unless you just smashed it in the bezel. Have you ever seen a bezel like that? Thanks for the info.

I've got one on an indian head cent that isn't removeable, not sure how it was installed.

It looks like a magician's coin, usually they have two heads. I wonder if someone was practicing. :)

    I agree, it's either a magician's coin - tails/tails - or it's someone's attempt to counterfeit an error - wheat/memorial.

Sorry for the confusion I just placed a memorial on top of the wheat to show that the wheat was larger than a normal cent.

    Hi,
Take a look at the reverse. Look at the edge directly under the M of AMERICA, That is where the loop was broken off of the bezel. It was used as jewelery or a good luck charm.
    have Fun,
