I don't collect paper money but over the years I have acquire quite a bit. I don't have anything of value and most of it is easily replaceable so I am not interesting in going to great expense to store it. It is mostly in a box, disorganized. I would like to store it in a way I can see it. I looked at this page: http://www.brooklyngallery.com/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?listcategories=action&parent=0950 and was wondering what my best option is to minimize cost but not do any damage to the papers. I want to add about 100 storage pages to an order I have in place already at this site and would like any recommendations. Thanks.
3-ring binder sleeves here. Low cost, easy to maintain and storing is minimal space. Also easy to look at and you can see both sides of the bill.
This works for me also, except that you will need the #10 size or European size (FDC) sleeves for the old large horse blanket U.S. notes or similar size foreign notes.
Thanks to everyone who replied. Seems like I don't need to worry about the type of holder like I would for a coin. I'll go ahead and get the FDC holders. The have both 4"x5" and 5"x7" so if I get some of both it seems that will work.
You say that they have no value, right, but want to keep them. To keep them dry, put them in a vacuum sealed bag in a amount that you know the face value, with a list of them [series]. Do this only, if you do not want to look at them often. These will not be for viewing, just storing in a safe which has a dryer in it too.
Well, I did say that the only reason I am asking is because I want to be able to look at them instead of just storing them away.
OK1 You did say they were of no high real value. Their are many ways to store them. I use sleeve, but to place them in a book, then them in storage would be a problem with me. They take up too much room in books in my safe. My safe is full of coins and paper. So, sleeves work better for me.
