I have some brand new BU rolls of nickels I want to store to sell many years down the road. What's the best way to keep them?

I was thinking of putting the rolls in a ziplock bag, but will that hurt them? I am not going to open the rolls.

How many rolls do you have? Do you plan to buy more each year to add to the set?

As long as they're not banging around, I think that they will be fine, maybe get a few nickel boxes from the bank to store the rolls in.

I agree with phdunay. Just go to your local bank and ask if they have an empty nickel box lying around. The boxes were made specifically to hold rolls of nickels, so it would be perfect! Each box holds 50 rolls of nickels.

That's as good a way as any and better than many. Just be sure that you also keep a silica gel pack in the bag with the coins.

Not really a good idea. It's bad enough that the coins will be in the paper rolls which contain sulphur, but to then add a cardboard box which contains even more sulphur makes it far worse.
