    lessons learned:
If you purchase a safe, do not write the combination down in a notebook anywhere near it.
It sound like the thief knew their was something of value there, a they make no mention of him/her taking anything else...

Very sad, I hope they catch the thief.

How sad, On the bright side, at least the man wasn't there to get beaten or killed as well as being robbed. Hopefully they'll catch the scumbag. Probably someone he knows too.

Can't help but feel sorry for them. Happens a lot. In the past, several members of the coin clubs I used to belong to had their coins stolen. It seems no matter how safe we think our coins are, some #$@* knows just where to look to find them.

that's sad. that would be bad if the robber just rolled them up and took them to the bank! then, he will never get his coins back.

I read a post earlier on getting your coins insured. It's so much for every 1,000 dollars of coins. Some guy says he does it and it's not that expensive, however he added this to his homeowners ins., because it was not included. He said he determined the value of the coins & had to list every one, but as long as the premium was paid, the amount was covered. Something that anyone interested in this topic may be seeking knowledge about this also.
