Dear Fellow Collectors and Dealers: Please keep an open eye for 2 Banknotes that were stolen. I would appreciate any help if you encounter these notes. I will be filing a police report today. RickieB
Oh no! These were your new acquisitions after getting back into collecting! What happened? I hope you didn't have a break in. Did these notes never actually reach you in the mail after buying them? I'm sure you are just sick loosing these! This is the kind of thing, you particularly, just don't need to be dealing with after all the stuff you've been through already with other matters. I'm very sorry to hear this. I'm sure you are sounding the alert far and wide with dealer and forums, but be sure to alert the pawn shops where ever this happened too. I'm very sorry to hear this news.
Oh No Rickie! I'm with krispy on this one in wondeirng what happened! Did you actually receive these notes after purchasing them, or did something else happen? We will definitely keep an eye out for them and I hope that they make their way back to you soon. So sorry to hear.
Guys my vehicle was broken into..the people were very good and very fast with little evidence of entry. Also taken was a 5 Gal Jerry can of gas that I had just toped off for my Tacoma. I have filed a Police Report and sepaking with the Officers had to explain what this note was and its rarity. They were shocked to know its value! I hope to get it back..I do not care so much about the obsolete proof but I care about this note. Thanks for your concern and open eyes.
Oh man, that sucks! This is what I fear everyday. I have sdb's and an off-site vault but they don't help much if the stuff is taken while in transit. Keeping my fingers crossed for you, Rickie.
Bummer. Hoping the notes are promptly returned to you. Do you think the thieves knew the notes were there or just happened upon them?
Post this on as many coin sites to get this info out.. I am sorry for this as it sucks. At least it is only a possession and not you...that is more damaging then money itself
What a bummer Rickie, I remember when you just received those notes. If the hoodlums don't know any better, they will try to unload them locally. And based on how high condition these notes are, it should be easily identifiable. Hope the authorities find them for you.
I did notify the Dealer who I purchased it from and he has eyes on the Bay for me. A friend at Heritage has alerted the Nusmismatic Crimes Division for me as well. Thanks for the concern guy's..I am sure they will turn up sometime.
For me it is not so much what the note cost's..it is more so the fact that there are very few of these around in this Grade. As mentioned, I am sure it will turn up some where.
Sad to hear of your loss, Rick. Have you looked at Craigslist? They might pop up there, too. Lots of hot stuff there.
Or they might end up in a local pawn shop... Very sorry to hear this Rick, I hope the perps get their just due... Dave
So Sorry to hear this news. I'll keep an eye out. Car burglars are among the lowest life forms in my book.
There was just a story on the local news here about a coin shop owner who was on his way back from a show being robbed. He parked outside of a restaurant and the thief pulled his van behind the dealer's, broke the back window, and stole all of the suitcases of merchandise. The lowlife got away with over $150,000 worth of dealer inventory. These people are getting brazen.
