Has anyone heard of the south carolina statehood quarter filled die? How much should one of those be valued at?? As for one that has it on obverse and reverse?

25 cents - sorry - but filled die errors have no real value over face.

Then why am I finding that so many people are paying upwards to a hundred dollars for these? Is it not like the kennedy half that says 200 ears of independance ? My highly respected coin dealer has one going for 75.00....

I suppose for the same reason that people pay $75 - $100 for a $15 Morgan on the TV shows. Some folks will buy anything.

Personally - I have never even heard of a filled die error selling for over $2. 'Course that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

yeah, I suppose you are right....By the way, I have seen first hand, not from buying what they sell on tv, but by someone getting a large box of "mint sets" that HSN was selling....Horrible horrible coins, some that looked like a person angry at coins took a knife and tried to murder it. One of the sets even had a PROOF nickel in it.....Goes to show you how much they actually know about coins
