Will Uncirculated State Quarter Rolls Go up in value in a few years after alot of people spend there rolls do to the recession ? http://http://www.coinsofamerica.com/iwwida.pvx?;PRODUCTS_DTL?cat=ROLLS &COMP=TTT %20%20&COMP=TTT
Never. My kids grandchildren will still be finding these and I don't have kids yet. Too many suckers bought sets from HSN.
Several of these quarters in BU already sell for a good premium over $.25. Will they someday ever be a high value coin? I don't think so at all. Like Noost says HSN claims they have sold well over several hundred thousand sets themselves. I have gone into people's homes and in the kids rooms or home office on the wall is a framed set of state quarters someone gave them as a gift. These are in homes of people that don't even collect coins. In my opinion though ever coin collector should have a set. It is true nothing has ever brought more interest and people to this hobby than the state quarter program. I also like the part about someone being able to get coin collection of very nice coins for very little money.
I try to keep updated at my bank, spending $100 or so a month on the new BU rolls. I switched banks because my last one used only clear plastic wrapper, my new bank is the official NF String paper wrappers. I have most coins, cents thru dollars going back a about 6 years, all D mint tho. All at face. Will this be better than depositing the cash in an interest bearing account? Time will tell. The way I see it, you cant go wrong at face value.
I think this is a most interesting observation. For something to become valuable, there must be people that want them. I think everyone who has ever wanted on has got one. These things will be showing up for generations in the trunks and cases of estates.
