I got this quarter from circulation and the surface has a grayed appearance. Is it pmd or an genuine error?

A lot of circulating SQ's turn this shade of gray. I just got one today in change from the grocery store.

Is it something collectible or valuable (wishful thinking, I know)?

Luckily I have two. :) Collectible or not, it's still cool looking.

i would continue to do research. I have heard that there are finish errors with some of the state coins and they look like the one you have.
