    Iowa error coin

Here are photos of the coin both sides; besides Ebay does any one know what the value of this coin is to a collector or potential value in the future? Thanks:)

Weird. I doubt it's an error. I see on the obverse that half of it is different too_One side is smooth, but the other side is kinda buppy. The side I'm talking about is the right side. There's a sort of a line that seperates it. It starts between the word state and ends between the word doller. That may be a clue of what it is.So I don't what to tell you.I hope you get more information. B12

    Hi,
Not being able to see the coin close hand or a little larger, I would still say it could be an error. It may be missing part of the clad layer. It may have been missing before the planchet was struck That may account for the weakness of the details on the obverse.
    Have Fun,
    Bill

I agree. A partially missing clad layer. From the weakness on the obverse, it's possible part of the core was missing too.

besides ebay what is the worth of this coin.

I jad a dealer look at it and the part of the coin that is smooth is because of the missing layer this is one of the clues that it is a genuine mint error. secondly when this coin went through a coin cah in machine it was spit out because the weight was not the same as a normal quarter, therfore it is missing the clad layer.
If any one has any info on the potential of this coin please let me know thanks:)
