Just got this email. "As of today, you won’t be able to use American Express as a form of payment on eBay, and the American Express card that was saved on your account has been removed. We understand this change may impact you, and we’re including all the information you need to ensure a smooth checkout experience." Another nail in their coffin. I used AmEx on there because I rarely use the card and it was therefore easier to detect fraud. No, I ain't gonna use Venmo or PayPal. My PayPal was hacked years ago when someone used it to send themselves a personal payment. It could only have happened via ebay - I never used PayPal anywhere else. Seems clear that they're just trying to up their profit margin because AmEx charges slightly more than other cards. Rant over.
Use a Capital One or Discover card and get cash back rewards. PM me for a referral and we'll both make a few bucks. It's like free money to spend on coins.
I don't need any more credit cards but thanks anyway. Already have Capital One. After my PayPal incident I do not trust ebay, so having to close the AmEx as a result of any hack would not be a big deal for me. Any other cards would be a major hassle.
If I go to pay for what I win through the Capital One website and eBay link. I can save an extra 4% That's better than I get at the bank account.
No worries…zero impact for me since I don’t patronize eBay, AmEx or PayPal. I’ve been burned by all 3 so I said enough is enough…imo…Spark
