The coin goes on sale in just over a week. The flag/Fort McHenry side looks pretty good; the other side seems pretty uninspired. Just 1 person's opinion. What do you think? Winner or not-so-much?
I like the silver design much better then the gold so may be a buyer of the silver coin. I will be in flight at the time of sale so will probably order later that day or the next day. TC
I will most like pick these up. I actually do like the designs, but that is just my patriotism shouting at me. They will go with my other modern bullion coin purchases for whomever that lucky guy or gal is when my personal belongings gets moved for the last time.
pulled this off US mint site..... What do the mintage numbers include? is there going to be 500,000 for P and D or is this number combined? Does this include proofs?
Commemorative's usually don't have both P and D like circulated coins. These will be minted in Philly like the specs say, up to 500k total if the sales reach that number across all production options, so that includes proofs and uncirculated coins. Oh and I'm getting the silver dollar for sure, probably the proof. I usually just go with the Proof's on commemorative's, before this one, the last one was the Lincoln and the Bald Eagle one before that, the others since Lincoln have not caught my attention at all.
WANT!!!!! Finally a modern coin with miss Liberty being patriotic. Been waiting for a beautiful design...
I really like the designs on these. Liberty holding the flag is such a patriotic symbol. I'll def be ordering one.
I like it, I'm buying. An almost classic liberty design, a fort and two American flags, whats not to like.
I will definitely be picking up a few of the silver versions both uncirc and proofs. However in agreement with TopCat the gold coin is really a let down mostly just the reverse shown below. If they had combined the silver coins obverse however as the gold's reverse I might have sprung for the gold coin also.
I wish I could fly.... lolz. Back OT, Id like to buy them but had my first car accident. My truck is all custom so its an expensive fix.
It's remarkable that the coin will be hit just based off drawings. Like the Army half, the promo drawing didn't do the real deal justice.
Does anybody know the prices of these? Maybe if there not TO expensive I might have neough money to buy one.

I'll get both coins but will wait to see how sales go later in the year. if low I'll buy from mint. otherwise wait 'till next year and the aftermarket price is usually cheaper for high mintage coins. happens a lot with commems
