Have you ever found a star note with value over the face value?

I never have after looking up several hundred. It was fun but I'm going to give up and spend what I have saved. It should pay for many trips to the bar. ;)

if your talking about circulated notes, not likely as condition issues usually
    are the final word.

Out of mine, the rarest one I've found, and that's saying next to nothing, is a $5 (I believe it's 2017) with a 500,000 run size.

The rarest one I've bought, though, is an uncirculated 1957 $1 star.

I'm not too much into star notes but I do keep the ones I find. They are still pretty interesting.

Not yet but I’ll keep what I have for a rainy day or later in my retirement and I’ll keep looking as it’s fun and enjoyable to me.

This series has a 2.67% star rate. I would like to think they will bring a premium over face. They where not found by me.

Yes, I received money worth more than the face value. Because I actually have Star Note money, I went to the internet and searched for it on Star Note Lookup and dollarnotelookup.com and found out the value of the Star Note.

First, sorry if this seems a bit off-topic since this has been my experience in Canada (& not the US).

In 1978, I worked at a carwash & caught a few asterisk replacements such as this one: *RE6849763.jpg

I found a few ONES as well but all were circulated & had very little premium whereas the *RE was the best of the bunch (& I sold my best on eBay years ago to upgrade my sets).

And since that time, I've always been checking my cash. In fact, I started recycling cash (changing high denoms for low denoms) in 2003, after noticing that our Journey banknotes (last paper series) weren't holding up well. In 2010, I caught a few HPF replacements (called "inserts") on 1 of my "brick" (10 stacks/ or 1000 note) withdrawals. The bank no longer signified a replacement with an X but just inserted other prefixes for replacement function. Here's a snap of three I got:

I never really was keen on the "inserts." I was mostly on the lookout for "Fancy" or special serials. Here's a $5.00 solid radar that I got from my Lotto change which really shocked me:

I also got a "0002000" polymer Five which I have found much more difficult than the other 2 digit radars. After I got the solid FIVE (above) I stopped going to the banks & bothering them with the "recycle cash" procedure. The odds of finding some great serial # just seemed astronomical & banking staff were getting near hostile (no matter how much I treated them to donuts, etc).
