So I went to the store yesterday and gave the clerk a $100.00 dollar note for my groceries. She gave me back $25.52 in change. The $20.00 and $5.00 dollar bills ended up being star notes. Although both are well circulated, I was a bit surprised that I received two star notes from the same transaction. The $20 was from a Fort Worth run and the $5.00 was printed at the D.C. facility. I'll add them to my small collection of stars.
I agree, it is quite rare to find two star notes in change at the same time. I have obtained star notes from straps of bills from the bank, but I have NEVER received a single star note in change (and I am 77 years old!).
at your age Jersey magic man that's absolutely surprising and almost shocking. I used to see em from time to time and set em aside but they seem to be scarcer and scarecer, see my post that I put up a little earlier this evening.
I get them very frequently in my change. So much so that the only ones I've ever put aside are the ones that are in pristine condition and have a low serial number.
