SLQ are one of the most beautiful of all 20th Century coins. Most of the ones I found in change were badly worn. Of the ones I kept you could easily identify them as date and mint, but, worn. This is probably the best one I ever found in circulation.
I was so very fortunate to have so many still in circulation when I was young. They are very difficult to acquire these days.
For SLQ and error collectors out there, here is a 1917-D Type 2 that is the only year SLQ with a shattered die. The die marker is the crack thru the M. They are out there. I have 5 of them that show the die progression. This one has the most die cracks. 60+ separate cracks. Some very small but they are there. One to look for. Hare is the pic of it . It is in a NGC MS63FH holder.
