It's that time of year again... high stakes testing! One thing I noticed on the 2nd grade standardized test (California) is the absense of problems with nickels. They often have pictures of coins (that aren't easy to distinguish I might add), but I don't recall any of the problems having nickels. I'm guessing this is due to the design changes over the past couple years. At least the quarter was similar... Changes to the cent in the coming years could drop them off the tests as well.
