I picked this up in some change from a store a few weeks ago and first just noticed it was a funky gold color but saw some extra dates stamped on it this morning. I know the 1960 & 1985 were obviously added along with the gold tone post mint, but does anyone know why? Are there more than one of these oddities floating around? What's the story behind it?
The double date and the gold plate were added by a private company, making this a novelty item -- value is maybe a couple dollars as such. That was the 25 year anniversary. He was elected in 1960.
