I have a better date Morgan Dollar that's stained. The stain is such that it has already devalued the coin greatly, based on the price I got it for. Now my question is, is it worth it to try to remove the stain? The way I see it, the coin is already impaired and there would be little downside to dipping it. And if the dip removes the stain, then it would be a cleaned coin, yet at least more attractive than it is now. Thoughts?

  3. Could you post a picture? We need to know what we're dealing with here.

Must show pics. And is it toning or some foreign substance?

  5. Also, the date and condition would be contributing factors, which we would need a picture for.

But if the dip doesn't remove the stain completely, then you have a cleaned AND stained dollar.
