All of these coins were found in the backyard of my parent's 200+ year old home. Supposedly my home and the 2/3 around it on the corner used to have a little commerce running through. On the corner that was where I found most of the Wheat Cents. It's amazing what you'll find... Greg
:hail: Cool finds! I find it more convenient and less expensive to search rolls (above ground of course), but to each his own.:smile
Haha yes. Everyone has different ways to get excited from spotting something significant and roll searching is just another one of those ways. I definitely was excited and hopefully will get out to find a few more wheaties!
Nice finds. :thumb: i get exited fiding wheats, I can imagine how thrilled you were to find the silver Roosey and the IHC.
It does seem more effective, but sometimes its seems like mroe fun to to get out about with the with the Metal detector exploring, looking and hoping to find that next treasure than sitting at the dining room table night after night searching rolls... Not that I have't logs my hours doing that too... I just wish I had a cooler Metal Detector... Mine stopped working, but sometimes I thought I'd do better with Divining rods...
My wife and I recently picked up matching detectors... I know cute huh?? hahahah That is a haul... I was thinking of trying to put a number 2 Lincoln cent book together with the cents I find while detecting...
Thats a great Idea. That way you wouldn't have to worry about how to clean them very good. You could just rinse the dirt off and put them in the album as-is.
