Just picked this up last week. It's a complete split planchet after striking. Actually, this was in circulation for awhile before it split in two complete halves. Both halves are matched by ANACS and graded F-15. Not bad looking for a 1944-P War Nickel if I do say so myself. I just had to have this. It was calling my name, loudly I might add. lol I took more photos than normal but I want you to see the best of both halves. The camera barely picks up the ghost image of Jefferson on one half but a ghost image is visible on both pieces.
It's very nice on hand. I saw it and it started screaming my name. I had to have it and after working out a price, well now it's mine.
Not common but a cool error. I think this one is extra special being a silver war nickel but that's just me.
