Hello Contest Players!

If you're like me, you love Coin Talk.
This numismatic community here is vibrant and active. When other sites are 'Sleepy Hollow', this place is busy. Although I haven't posted here often until this year, I've been a lurker for quite a while, and I've been trying to come up with contests that would encourage members to check out Coin Talk every day (or at least several times a week). I finally went ahead with an idea that met those goals, the 'Slot Machine Contest', and that contest successfully concluded two weeks ago.

Today I'm proud to announce an even better slot machine contest: Spin To Win!
---
This is a game of prediction, not a gambling game. Naturally, it's free to enter, and I pay for any and all prizes. The object of the game is to correctly predict what symbols will line-up on the 'pay line' of an antique three-reel slot machine that I own. This dollar machine is old and rickety (just like me), the reels sometimes don't spin with full momentum and the coin mechanism has been disabled, but it seems to be otherwise working well enough to use for a contest. So let's put this old one-armed-bandit back into service again!
---
Here's a photo of our 'Gold and Silver Express' Slot Machine, originally from Nevada's famed Cal-Neva Casino:

To enter the 'Slot Machine Contest', simply post a message in this thread with your predictions for the three symbols that will stop on the pay line when I spin the machine two times.

The machine has these symbols on its reels: BLANK BAR MELON LOCOMOTIVE.
---
Since the machine has three reels and I will be spinning the reels twice per round, you should post your predictions numbered like this:
1. BAR BLANK LOCOMOTIVE

2. MELON BAR BLANK

---
So how do you win cash and prizes, you ask? All you have to do is be the first to correctly predict the symbols that will stop on the pay line for each numbered spin (in the correct order) when I play the machine. If you correctly predict the three symbols for both spins, that makes you 'Jackpot Qualified' for the next round of the game and guarantees you two numismatic prizes and an opportunity to win a Cash Jackpot or up to two more prizes!
---
EXAMPLE:
Let's say that your guess is the same as the example I posted above in red.
And let's say that I actually spin BAR BLANK LOCOMOTIVE on the first spin, and MELON BAR BLANK on the second spin.
You would be 'Jackpot Qualified' for the next round of the game!
While all of the other players would still be posting guesses, you would just need to sit back and watch the reels spin to determine your winnings!

But if you posted the prediction above in red, and I actually spun MELON BAR BLANK on the first spin, and BAR MELON BLANK on the second spin, you lose.
Your predictions must not only be for the proper spin (#1 or #2), but must also predict the three symbols on the reels in the proper order, to win.
In this example, you were incorrect on both guesses.
---
Here's the Payoff Chart for 'Jackpot Qualified' players in our contest.
Since each 'Jackpot Qualified' player gets two spins, it's possible to win up to $100 cash, plus prizes!

---
There's another way to win, too!
In the event that no player correctly predicts both spins to become 'Jackpot Qualified', the first player to correctly predict the three symbols for either spin (in the proper order) becomes 'Prize Qualified'. Since there are two spins in each round, it's possible for two players to become 'Prize Qualified', one for each of the two spins.
'Prize Qualified' players don't need to post guesses in the next round. They just sit back and watch the reels 'Spin To Win!'.
---
A list of available numismatic prizes to choose from will be listed in Post #2 of this thread, and will be updated throughout the contest.
Some of the higher value or unusual prizes count as TWO PRIZES, and all prizes are subject to prior sale or trade.
---
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ THIS.
Guesses for both spins must be posted together in a single post. You may NOT EDIT ANY POST which contains predictions for this contest.
Edited posts are considered NON-ENTRIES. All guesses in edited posts are VOID, and you may not post more guesses until the next round.
Incomplete or ambiguous guesses are also void. If you don't number your guesses, they will be interpreted left-to-right top-to-bottom.
If you aren't sure whether your posted guess will be valid or not, you are always better off to leave it unedited than to attempt to change it.

Each round of the game will be held no less than 12 hours apart. There may be days where no spins take place, due to employment or other obligations.

---
There are also other ways to win, especially for those who pay attention to details.
One of those ways is to be the first to 'map the reels'. You will qualify for TWO NUMISMATIC PRIZES if you are the first to publicly post a chart of all the symbols on all three reels in the proper order. If you choose to take up this maddening challenge, please post your chart with a LOCOMOTIVE as the first symbol of each reel on your chart. This will make it easier on my eyes, as I try to compare your chart with the mess that became my chart after I took up the same challenge. Mapping these reels is not as easy as it looks.
Details on all the ways to win cash or prizes are in the Official Rules posted below.
---
I'll post the results of each round of two spins to this thread (using text, the same way that you post your guesses). I will also try to post a photo of the reels after each spin or a video of the spinning of the reels, but no promises. There's always a chance my camera or the internet is being uncooperative.

Shortly before I tell you the results for each round, I'll post a message that entries for the round are closed. This will let you know that I'll be uploading the results shortly.
Following the posting of the results, I'll re-open guessing for the next round in a post using green text.
---
A demo spin of the slot machine reels spinning and stopping may be viewed at this link. The file name is 'Demo Spin':

All photos and video related to this contest will be uploaded into the same folder as this demo.
---
The Official Rules for this contest are shown below.
Coin Talk requires the rules for each contest to be posted in the first post of the contest thread.

It's not necessary to read them now, unless you're looking for a competitive advantage or you like to pay attention to details.
In case of a conflict between something that I've posted here and something in the Official Rules, it's the Official Rules that count.

OFFICIAL “SPIN TO WIN” CONTEST RULES
---
SECTION ONE
---
1. This is a prediction game that is free to play, not a gambling game where people pay for a chance to spin and win. Object of the contest is to correctly predict which symbols will stop on all of the slot machine ‘pay lines’, making you eligible to win cash and/or prizes in subsequent spins of the slot machine. Each ‘round’ of this game shall consist of two spins of the slot machine reels. Each forum member may post one message per round, containing two predictions for all-three-symbols (in correct order) on the slot machine.
---
2. Once posted, guesses may NOT be edited or otherwise changed. Any ambiguous, edited or incomplete prediction will render all predictions in that post void, will be considered non-entries, the forum member will be considered non-Prize Qualified and non-Jackpot-Qualified, and ineligible to participate until after the next round on the slot machine. Each of the two guesses in any post is valid only for one of the two spins in each round. Guesses will be interpreted in left-to-right or top-to-bottom order as rendered in the player’s post, with the left (or top) guess valid for the first spin of that round, and the right (or bottom) guess valid for the second spin of that round, unless designated otherwise. In the event only one guess is posted, it shall be valid only for the first spin of the round, unless designated otherwise in the post.
---
3. Players may choose identical or different guesses for each of the two spins, and players may choose identical or different guesses as other players in the same round. It is advisable that players endeavor to duplicate guesses of previous players, since only the FIRST correct guess per spin is eligible for Cash or Prizes. Players will not earn additional guesses in this game.
---
4. Symbols on the machine are the ‘Locomotive’, the ‘Melon’, the ‘Bar’, and the ‘Blank’. A player who is the FIRST to correctly predict which symbols will stop on all three of the pay lines (left-to-right, in correct order) for BOTH of the spins in each round will become ‘Jackpot Qualified’ for the NEXT round of the game. Only ONE player may become ‘Jackpot Qualified’ in any round of the contest.
---
5. In the event that NO PLAYER becomes “Jackpot Qualified”, a player who is the FIRST to correctly predict which symbols stop on all three of the pay lines (left-to-right, in correct order) for EITHER the first or second spin of each round will become ‘Prize Qualified’ for the NEXT round of the slot machine. No more than TWO players (one for each spin) may become ‘Prize Qualified’ for any round of the contest.
--
6. As a player, it is YOUR responsibility to avoid posting incomplete, edited or ambiguous entries. Remember, if you post an improper guess, you are NOT ELIGIBLE to become ‘Jackpot Qualified’ or ‘Prize Qualified’ until the next round of the contest. In the event that you post more than two guesses, all guesses in that post will be considered NON-ENTRIES. Decisions of the contest host, ‘The Coin Trader’, will be final and binding upon all players.
---
7. By entering or accepting any coin prize or cash, you agree to be bound by these rules. Rules for rounds in which a player has become ‘Jackpot Qualified’ are posted in SECTION TWO. Rules for rounds in which a player has become ‘Prize Qualified’ are posted in SECTION THREE. The first player to publicly post a correct mapping of all three reels of this machine will automatically win ONE PRIZE from the list of available numismatic prizes.
---
8. To prevent forum members from registering or using new identities in anticipation of or during this contest, the contest is open only to those Member IDs who were registered on Coin Talk as of the date of the final ‘Jackpot Qualified’ spin of our previous ‘Slot Machine Contest’, which was 5-31-2012. Any malfunction of the slot machine that prevents one or more reels from spinning or locking into place after a spin will void that spin. ‘Spinning’ will be defined as the continuous movement of the reel by at least one symbol in the proper direction, however quickly or slowly.
---
9. Contest rules may be changed at any time, and contest may be ended at any time, at the sole discretion of The Coin Trader. Contest will NOT be ended while any member is ‘Jackpot Qualified’ or ‘Prize Qualified’. In the event that the machine breaks down while any player is ‘Jackpot Qualified’ or ‘Prize Qualified’ and the machine is not fixed within 7 days following the previous round, a ‘Jackpot Qualified’ member shall win $20.00 and choice of two ‘Numismatic Prizes’, and ‘Prize Qualified’ contestants shall win only the choice of one ‘Numismatic Prize’, and no players will be eligible for any more spins or cash or prizes.
---
10. Players who are not ‘Jackpot Qualified’ or ‘Prize Qualified’ will not be eligible to win any prizes or cash based on spins of the Slot Machine reels. Maximum aggregate cash payout to all contestants is $100 for the duration of this contest.
---
SECTION TWO
---
11. When a player becomes ‘Jackpot Qualified’, he or she will be automatically eligible to win cash and/or numismatic prizes in the following round. It is not necessary for ‘Jackpot Qualified’ players to post guesses in the round in which they are qualified, and any guesses so posted will be ignored and invalid.
---
12. ‘Jackpot Qualified’ players will be paid potential CASH PRIZES in accordance with the rules in THIS SECTION for BOTH spins of the ‘Jackpot Qualified’ round AND will also be ‘Prize Qualified’ to earn prizes in accordance with the rules in SECTION THREE.

13. ‘Jackpot Qualified’ players will receive the actual monies that the machine is advertised to pay for the results of BOTH spins of the round in which the player is qualified. Jackpot Awards PER SPIN are $50 (for three locomotives), $20 (for three melons) or $10 (for three Bars) to paid via Paypal or Personal Check to any USPS address. Total cumulative maximum cash payout to any Jackpot Qualified Contestant in a single ‘Jackpot Qualified’ round is $100. Winners will be responsible for Paypal or currency exchange fees associated with the transfer of winnings. It is possible for a ‘Jackpot Qualified’ contestant to win no money in a Jackpot Round, if no winning symbol combinations stop on the pay line on either spin.
---
15. Once any player has won a cash award (or awards) of $50 or more, that player will retire as a ‘Spin To Win Champion’ and be ineligible to enter, play or win more cash or prizes.

SECTION THREE
--
16. When a player becomes ‘Prize Qualified’, he or she will be automatically eligible to win one or more prizes from the list of available Numismatic Prizes. This list will be posted prior to the first round of the contest, and will be updated periodically during the contest. Winners may not choose duplicate identical prizes in a single round of play. Some higher value or unusual prizes will be designated as worth TWO PRIZES, all other prizes will count as ONE PRIZE regardless of the number of items. All prizes will be mailed at my expense by USPS First Class or Media Mail without any special services, with all risk of loss or damage assumed by the prize winner. Winners outside the USA who are unable to provide a USPS address may select a Paypal payment of US $7.50 per prize as a substitution.
--
17. ‘Prize Qualified’ players who are also ‘Jackpot Qualified’ will be eligible to win prizes on BOTH spins in the Prize Round. In the event that there is no ‘Jackpot Qualified’ contestant, then ‘Prize Qualified’ contestants who correctly predicted the result of the FIRST spin in the REGULAR round will be eligible to win prizes on only the FIRST spin of the PRIZE Round, and ‘Prize Qualified’ contestants who correctly predicted the result of the SECOND spin in the REGULAR round will be eligible to win prizes on only the SECOND spin in the PRIZE Round. It is not necessary for qualified players to post guesses in the round in which they are qualified, and any guesses so posted will be invalid and ignored.
--
18. A total of Two Prizes will be awarded to any qualifying player who spins three-of-a-kind (of any symbol) on an eligible spin in the Prize Round. One Prize will be awarded otherwise. Prize choices must be selected by Private Message prior to the spinning of reels for any subsequent Regular Round or be forfeited, unless the prize winner has not posted any guesses for that subsequent round. Prizes not claimed by the end of the contest will be forfeited. Two numismatic prizes will be awarded to the first Coin Talk Member who posts a message containing the phrase “I read the rules and I’m claiming my prize” in the Spin To Win contest thread, as my way of saying thank you for reading through all of this wordiness. In numismatics, prizes go to those who pay attention to details. J

Good Luck!

I have a question regarding the mapping of the reels, I know to win the prize
you need to post all three correctly mapped wheels, but can you
post a single wheel for review, so you don't have to reveal all your mapping
work at one time.
