Spes Reipvblice

    Here is what I think is a Julian II from Cyzicus. The reverse has the unusual SPES REIPVBLICE plain as day and the portrait looks like the other Julian issues, so...

    I think you have it right.As you probably already know,only Constantius II and Julian II used this reverse and Constantius is always shown with the double headband thing while Julian is bareheaded.I can't tell for sure if it's Cyzicus,but since there are only a couple of possibilities,that seems like the best guess.

    I'm getting there, I'm getting there. Got a long ways to go before I'm in the same league as you though... Your gonna get tired of what I have soaking in O-Oil over the next few days. An order of uncleaned ancients arrived in the mail today from Great Britain. ;)
