I have seen the speared buffalo from the Denver mint but I have not yet found a picture of one from the Philadelphia mint. I have been told it looks nothing like the Denver nickel. Does anyone have a picture of it or can anyone describe it? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I would like to know what to look for when I am going thru my box of nickels this week. Thanks.

The "speared P" if I remember correctly has also been called the "hatcheted bison" among other creative marketing names. Again, if memory servers, its a die chip located near the shoulder where the back fur meets the head/mane fur. If I find a picture I'll post it for you.
