My Dad, gave me, as a part of his coin collection, a number of rolls of 1964 Washington quarters. Don't know whether to break up the rolls and grade the quarters or just keep them as rolls for a silver investment.

    Any thoughts!

Great forum...appreciate all the information and expertise.

It depends on the condition of the coins, which you can only know by looking at them. They might be junk, and they might be uncirculated.

They are now yours. Do with them what you want. Me?, I'd open them so fast the paper wouldn't have time to hit the floor. I'd just have to know what was inside. Sort of like looking at a forest and always wondering if there is more trees inside. Looking at the face of a 1909S Lincoln Cent and always wondering if there is a VDB on the other side.
    Open the thing.

Do you really know they're all 1964? That would drive me insane...

I think we're getting sidetracked here. There is absolutely no reason and no premium on having an unopened roll of '64 quarters.

If you read the OP carefully, it's not a question about opening them, but whether it is worth grading them individually and of course, that is as Mr. Sweeper said - depends on their condition
