Speaking of CUDs... 1830 Bust Dime Morning All, I once had the Bust Coin Forum members all in a chatter once when I posted this 1830 dime with stab holes in it. I paid $29 for it and was offered "multiples" of what I'd paid for it. All because of the "late die state" which I still knew/know nothing about Bone
I think that means its a variety..... Over on the PCGS forum a few months back that some guy had bought a holded Bust Dollar for around $50..he sold it to another guy on there for about the same price...he went and put it on Ebay and it went for thousands...someone had looked really good and seen that it was a new variety and was worth a 5 number price....(since there is only 1 around).... I would sugggest that you search this one out Speedy
I remember that coin, some find eh? Here are some of the responses I received: ?????????????????????????? "Trust me, I do not believe you got burned on this deal , whatever you paid for it. I'd happily relieve you of your "dog" ... just name your price and contact me ... neat coin!" "If I don't miss my mark, I think what numiscene is referring to is that you have in your possession a JR-1, which is an R-5 per "Early United States Dimes 1796 - 1837." Additionally, your coin is a very nice example of a later die state that shows the full cud above UNI on the reverse. I think you would have made a good buy at multiples of the price you paid. Many forum members would gladly add your coin to their collection! Congratulations." ???????????????????????????? Bone
Have you searched online auctions for a JR-1 1930 dime...like DLRC and Heritage??...that would give you a value. Speedy
