Spanish new World Silver Cobs

    Just won these (auction house photo so no other side)....any ID help appreciated......bought whole group for £110.....hope I did OK....marbury

    I think you did very well. They go for big bucks on the shipwreck sites, and those look like roughly one ounce chunks, which means you got some very old coins for around melt!

    Well you got them for a pretty good price nonetheless. I don't know the silver price in pounds, but it seems like you got a deal. Check out the Atocha site if you want to see what they go for retail. You got a deal! He wants $75 a piece for coins that aren't nearly as nice as yours.

    It takes too much time to ID them for the value but I did well on that auction as bought another good US lot.....edited might keep the 1857 Peace Medal....sent it to NGC. All the best, marbury

    The Cobs sold at a loss..........Donald Trump I am not......

    Peace Medal sent back from NGC as ineligible for grading.............they don't have the staff to grade them........

    I wish you had sold them to me for a loss.
    I love those Spanish cobs. They remind me of pirate treasure, pieces of eight, etc.
