Spanish colonial coin identification

    Can someone give me some more information for this coin?
    Its weight is 14.4 gr. I can't figure out if it's copper or silver coin.
    I will appreciate any help

    I don"t sure but i think - it is VIII maravedis (copper) by Philippus IV (spanish king in XVII century) or Philippus V (XVIII century).

    I don't think so. I think it is a counterfeit 4 reales given the design.

    Not strange at all. Many counterfeits have been made of base metal and/or copper, then given a silver wash or silver plating - and passed off as the real thing.

    What we need to always remember is that most fake coins are made so they can be spent, as money. Only a small portion are made in an effort to fool a collector.
