Does anyone know when the Mint started making "spaghetti hair" obverses for Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Kennedy? Was it done in one year or over a period of several years? I think these may have started in the early 1990s. I also noticed that the legends on the Roosevelt dime are now a little farther from the rim than they used to be, at least "LIBERTY". This change may have been done more recently. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks. Jerry

    It took a while.

It started in '94 but it really seemed a lot worse to most people in '96 when the obverse became the convex side of the coin so the changed hair was sort of "pushed out" toward the viewer.
