Anyone out there have some sources of older original bank rolls of any or all denominations you would be willing to share? I enjoy picking through uncirculated rolls to find coins to submit for grading. The majority of the rolls I've found on eBay so far appear to have been stored in wet basements or were swept up off the floor before being rolled. Not interested in rolls made up from mint bags, only original, UN SEARCHED, bank rolls. Any info is very welcome!:thumb:
The original unsearched bank rolls is the white whale of the hobby. Some say that they exist but I've never seen it. Everything has been searched and if the seller claims he didn't search it then it was searched by his uncle or it was searched buy the guy who he bought it from last week.
I tend to agree. A while back I made the mistake of buying Wisconsin quarter rolls to search for high & low leaf errors. Seemed kind of strange so many rolls had coins with rolling machine damage in the middle of the rolls. Also found quite a few fingerprints on "uncirculated original bank rolls" I've opened. Sure would like to find an honest source.:headbang:
The problem is that once a seller who has honest unopened bank rolls is found, it is not long before his/her stock is depleted. Then it's time for the hunt again.
