Could anyone share with me how I might obtain 'original' UNC P+D rolls of Lincolns, Jefferson, and Roosevelts? My googles searches have come up completely empty. I have some holes to fill in my albums and would rather not pay $25+ for the six, or wait forever. I am not a regular at the bank, so I do not have access to many rolls to hunt through. Thanks for any tips. Happy hunting! -Ron
You might not have to wait much longer, in June of 2011 my area was flooded with 2011P dimes. It lasted for a looong time. HOTN
They'll hit your local banks sometime this year, if they haven't already. Have you been checking? Might just ask a teller to give you a jingle if they see some.
also, just watch the change you get back as you buy things. One day you will be handed change with a brilliant new 2012. Just ask "may I buy a roll from you" They clerk will almost always say sure and sell you one or 2. Then pick out the best for your book. Doesn't work as well for coins from the opposite cost. I'm trying to pick up a couple of extras of my side (Denver) and when I do I'll try to find someone to trade with from the east coast.
Thanks Intrepid. Wow, 49 rolls! I think the cost of shipping a roll $5 would be fairly cost prohibitive for just the P. Thanks anyway though. Take care.
Lon Chaney- yes, I've been checking every chance I get. been to 4 separate banks probably 6-7 times total and the tellers look at me like I'm weird, and they say they have no idea if they are 'fresh' or a mixed roll. I got a few and they were all mixed, not fresh 2012. Oh well.
Bummer. I've found both 2012 P and D cents in boxes (not full 2012 boxes though). But they've been in there. I've got my cent album covered for the year, but nothing else. Well, I did get an El Yunque quarter, but I'm not keeping an ATB album.
