Uhhh i am so mad and happy at the same time. I went to a locql coin shop today to look for some old halves. The owner said that that all of his coins were down at the convention center because there was a coin show in town. Being only two blocks away and the show being free, me and my dad walked right on down. There were so many amazing morgans and walkers and anything you could want everywhere. Everything was pretty pricy and then i came to this one booth. My mouth was gaping the entire time. I think the guy was a little outdated on coin prices because he had high quality coins at suuuuper low prices. He even had a whole stack of vf + walking liberties for 15 bucks each. We only put an hours worth of quarters into the meter and i had a very limited amount of money. I walked away with an 1898 barber half in f8 condition and a 1962 proof franklin half with some beautiful amber colored toning on the edges. Im happy because of those but im mad because i know that i will probably never see these coins at these prices again and i wish i coukd have bought them all
It can be maddening at times can't it OldSilver? So many coins, so little money. Welcome to the forum dear fellow and please do post some pics.....
im trying to upload pictures but it says the files are too large. sorry guys. if u know how to solve this any help would be greatly appreciated
OK. You've got to make those pic files smaller. Anything under 900 MB usually will upload to this site as the "site" will automatically adust the files and make them acceptable. Try to re-size those files. Microsoft has a program known as powertoys image resizer.....http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx That link is for XP but i'm told its also good for later versions of Windows. Hope this helps.....
Thats why I refuse to go to coin shows or shops I will storm out like a little kid because I cant buy EVERYTHING
Hmmmm. Two blocks, ATM Machines, parking meters? Seems to me you had everything you needed to make additional purchases and you should have taken advantage of the situation. I would've. Maybe your Dad could have spotted you a couple of extra bucks?
I'm glad you had fun and got some cool coins! Don't be angry, If you had every coin and could have every coin as soon as you desired it, that would take most of the fun out of collecting. I believe the spirit is to go in and get the best you can to add to your collection and to enjoy the choices you made with in your spending budget... that dream of having them all is what will be your fuel to drive you back again and again to make more choices. Hopefully you can be happy with the pieces you do decide to make part of your own personal collection.
Come on girl..... It is a MUST to eneter one. Your jaw will drop and will feel as if you are in heaven :]
We were two blocks from the coin shop wich was about half a mile away from the meter so it was like a ten minute walk back. I dont have a bank account so atm wasnt an option and my dad paid for both of the coins so he didnt want to spend any more. Trust me i was trying to think of anything possible to get more coins
To resize them, just open it up in MS Paint. Then make it smaller (50% size, whatever). It just has to be under 2 MB per pic, which is still a pretty large file.
old silver, paint works as well to resize your pics, just go to open then browse for you file. load it to paint the click on image, then select resize/skew image. 50 - 70% usually works for me depening on the size of your coin in the photo. Be sure to save it before closeing out or uploading another pic (press save not save as) or otherwise you will have to upload from paint when you want to post them.
