My bad... it should have been ngcoins (plural) and pgccoins (plural) or just do a search for Washington Clip ngcoins is no longer a registered user. I get the feeling that the error coins this guy is selling may not be authentic. I could be wrong
Well neither one currently has anything for sale at the time of this post. Here are links to each profile: NGCoins PGCCoins PGCcoins has not sold anything since 2005. NGCoins has only ever sold one auction containing coins HERE. He is no longer an eBay member.
The thing I see fishy is that every thing ngcoins had listed were errors that could be faked. one pic had a clipped error and it looks like the edge of the clip has burrs. From what I have read about clipped planches is that the strike is ussually weak across from the clip and slightly masfed over at the clip. The pics aren't good enough to be conclusive, but I would not touch them with roy,s 10 foot pole.link
Someone at EBay smelled something rotten too. Joined 3/26/07, got six feedback from sellers only, posted this auction, got NARUed; and did it all in just two weeks!
My bad I listed the user name incorrectly again. Follow the link and look at the other coins this person is selling. http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-washington...goryZ524QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem hmmmmmmmmmmm
8-5 (and half your money back if you lose) that it's the same guy. "pcgcoins" is the ID he adopted after "ngcoins" was NARUed. Calling him a sleazeball is an insult to the dishonest, greedy sleazeballs of the world.
error coins....it wasn't me LOL Look at what ngcoins purchased before these GW "errors" came up for bids. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300094035196
It is good that 'ngcoins' got NARU'd.That eBayer was definitely a wanker. The biggest wanker on eBay was 'estatedoctor' (aka Pamela 'Pjd1966' Donnelly). Aidan.
It's possible for both sides to be missed by the blank simply skipping the striking process, but I don't think there's any possible way for only one side to get missed with the currently used minting equipment. There wouldn't be a surface to strike the coin against. With the reverse die missing the coin should be distorted (be a big rim and the obverse would be pretty weakly struck).
hi! I'm new... Has anyone seen or heard anything about a double edge gown strike? or a die back error; between 2nd & 3rd fold in the Lady's robe, just above the elbow?
