If the pics were better, it'd be easy. They look like hits, though. Maybe that's why the pics are so out of focus.

Hard to tell if those are on the coin or the airtite, and whether they're raised or indented.

Regardless, I wouldn't bid on that unless it was certified as a genuine mint error.

I emailed the guy asking for better pics. Here's what he sent me. She looks like she has chicken pox! Actually...look by her sleeve. That area looks both raised & indented. I'm not planning to bid, just curious.

looks to me like someones S mint coin got damaged in shipping and they are attempting to make up for it by calling it an error. JMO

Craters. That one has been out of it's capsule and severely mishandled.

Agreed, most likely they are hits or PMD. Playing devil's advocate though, I have a coin that has somewhat similar bubbles (indented & raised) that still got a PCGS rating of PR69... maybe he has a similar error? Also, I enlarged that pic he emailed and noticed that the marks go down her arm and up into the stars which seemed like an odd type of PMD. I would have thought most examples of PMD would be scrapes in one direction.

That being said, I wasn't comfortable bidding on his auction... Like you guys, I'm concerned that it could just be damage.
