no. it is against ebay policy. you can report them.

that happened to me. I reported them and I also contacted the seller. he was cool about it and removed my photos.

in my opinion it makes me look bad when my same photos are being used with different seller ID'S. especially when a you state the coins in the photos are the ones you will receive.

Use watermarks on your photos in the future as well.

Yeah, watermarks are good. I used to sell items like postcards, etc., and realized that some people who wanted the image (and might normally bid on the card) were content with having a "free" high-quality digital image if there was no watermark there; they could then "add" it to their collection without purchasing. So I started watermarking my photos, and not taking such high quality photos = I actually sold more based on that.

Some people make a big deal about it, some don't care. I have used Shanes (kryptonitecomics) pictures in the past and he does not mind.

If it bothers you, contact eBay and the seller.

I have used Heritage and Holmes sale photos for purposes of identification of varieties on this board. I'm thinking there is a research only exception, BUT I would never use them to sell anything without permission which I would consider misuse.

    Am I wrong?

I've done the same for reference. I always identify the source. Using someone else's pics to sell an item is fraudulent IMO.

Using the images to show something, for teaching purposes etc is perfectly fine as long as you are not quoting verbatim extensively. It is called Fair Use. (Showing a variety is OK, showing a few to illustrate the differences between them would be OK, showing all of the varieties for a year to create an attribution guide would be a no no.) Using the images for selling purposes would be as you say misuse.

I politely asked the seller to change the image and he did!
