Hi, I usually post US coins, but here are some world pickups from the last coin club auction. I just bid them up to help the club....:mouth: and ended up with some. I have little idea as to value, etc. Just interesting to me at the time Jim A 1 pound Biafra note and A Farewell set from Great Britain. Thanks for looking!
I liked the set, I figured it had to worth the $16. A WWII buff kept up with me until he realized I was one of Spock's friends and he backed off!! I bought a 1971 sealed 5 coin Vatican set also, but it looked a little boring so I didn't post it. Jim
Nice looking set but it would have looked even better with something other than the Churchill crown in the center LOL As for the Biafran £1 note that I think is lovely
Georgiansilver, The date is 1934. I can see I will have to search more information on this set. Interesting. Jim
Shows how little I knew about it. I did a google and also checked on ebay and I find there are several combination sets ranging from 5 coins to 11. I had assumed it was an original GB mint issue. I know the previous owner picked it up himself on a trip there in the 1970s he said. I do like some mystery with my coins:smile If the GV was a mercury dime, I would say it was EF or better. Jim
was the farewall set to celebrate the change over of the 1971? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_Day btw thx for posting , my fav the comme churchill crown..
