I scrounged up some older $100 bills at the bank today. I looked them up on eBay but I don't trust the prices on there. First one is a 1950E $100 Second is 1963A $100 which on eBay doesn't even sell. However, I am curious if the fact that it's backplate is #1 raises it's value at all. Oops, all 3 pictures of the reverse are of the 1963A bill. Sorry. Thanks
1950E notes were issued in relatively small numbers and for a short time (using up the remaining capacity of the old wet-sheet printing presses). I think $100s of this issue, if intact and unmarred, are always worth keeping. The 1963A notes were current for years, and only worth keeping if in new or nearly new condition, or are star notes.
Though nice bills and in good condition with out having a interesting serial number or star designation I dont think they would price much more then the quoted book price!
