Here is a pic of the Indians that I found today that cleaned up pretty nice.
Plus a pic of the nicest one.
And a pic of the how the two look that were stuck together in the hole. Jim

Wow full liberty and nice full strikes on the feathers. Great find!! How many diamonds can you see? I can't see that part of the coin well.

Very nice finds! I'm curious, what methods of cleaning do you use on your finds? They appear to clean up quite nice from being buried but I don't see a lot of evidence of the cleaning in the pics.

I plop the coin in hydrogen peroxide using a small glass bowl. I then put that into the microwave for 10 seconds. It will fiz away the dirt for about 5-10 minutes. I take the coin out and us a softbristle toothbrush to scrub the dirt and crud off. If I like what I see I leave it alone. If I don't, I repeat until I like the apperance. Just what I do, I'm not suggesting others to do the same. Jim

Hmm, it seems to work based on the pic. Does the brush leave a bunch of small scratches on the coin that are visible in hand or has so many years in the ground made that the least of your worries? I must admit, for coins that sent 100 years in dirt, they look pretty good.

    Jim:
Are you saying that you put the coin in the microwave?

I thought that you can't put metal in there?

No, you can't have metal touching the sides, or in a configuration like foil that will allow it to arc back to itself. My microwave has a metal rack that you can install in it.
