Just showing of some of the awesome colors these nickels turn. These are from original bank wrapped rolls. Its fun to open up rolls that have been stored away for 25-50 years and see some the toning that goes on. Especially on the end of the rolls.
Very nice! Those are definitely keepers. I recently won an eBay auction for a large quantity of proof Jeffersons from 1960-1964 that had clearly been stored away in rolls for a long time. Some of them had rainbow toning rivaling anything I've ever seen on silver, and a few had taken on an awesome dark reddish-purple hue. I'm now hooked on toned nickels.
Yeah the 60's Jefferson proofs really ton to crazy levels. I also collect those. Cobalt blues, yellows and purples. The 60's were a wild time! heres a few of them:
nice, but realize that if you 'send them in' they'll come back At... See Matt's thread about an AT Morgan (?). Not questioning you-- just making fun of the TRG'ers
