Nothing toooo crazy here but always looking for feedback.. Even negative feedback is ok. Some feel the 1883 morgan is a hair overgraded. I think its beautiful in person but I've concluded it would not CACeven though its very nice. The barber was pretty inexpensive compared to what I normally buy but i just love how it looks.

The CC Dollar is sure pretty but I agree it is not a 65 in my eyes. I am a huge fan of the Barber dimes though. You have a good eye!

I would also say the 1883 is slightly overgraded

But maybe becuase the graders was looking at a DMPL that they were a little more lenient

Thats sort of the grey area that has been brought to my attention about this coin. The mirrors are great and for some reason i could not post two other pics that I wanted to post that show less chatter and more contrast. But yea could be the DMPL that bumped the grade..

I agree that the dollar might have been a tiny bit overgraded, but it's lovely. I'll bet that thing has some serious flash and nice cartwheel luster in hand. You can tell that much from the photos.

Sweet Barber dime, too! I like 1911 for some reason (that reason being that it was my paternal grandmother's birthyear, I guess).

As it happens, I also just got an MS64 Barber dime in a swap a little while back, which I'm happy with. It's only the second 64 I've owned.

This is the more recent one I just got.

This one is from my ancient PCGS Registry set in the early 2000s (I used a flatbed scanner for imaging back then).

Nice coins! I don't have much experience with the Barber series but I'll guess the dinks under "DIME" kept it from grading higher? A very nice coin regardless.
The die cracks add character to the Morgan. I see the holder is scraped in the reverse center lower quadrant. Is that obscuring the second C of the mm or is the coin surface scraped also? Either way beautiful coin. Thanks for sharing!

An old friend! Such an eye appealing Barber, I just traded in a 66CAC Barber 10C that yours is nicer than.

Nice pickups @Jon Brand DMPLs always seem a little more nicked up than normal coins since the mirrors exaggerate everything.

Don't know if anyone else noticed that you felt the Morgan was a "hair" over-graded, while talking about a "Barber" dime, nice! :D Seriously, that Barber is sweet looking (but aren't they all, mostly?)

As for the Morgan, well, I never met a Morgan I didn't like, & that's a problem for me. I usually resist commenting on GTG or agree/disagree on grades because, in my opinion, no matter what anyone tells me, no picture does a coin absolute justice. In this instance, the Morgan seems to be a fabulous specimen, but maybe the grader was mesmerized by the "DMPL" or the "CC", because by the pictures it sure looks over-graded to me. I'm sure it looks much, much nicer in hand & may actually merit the 65. Do you think it's nicer in hand than the pic? If not, I doubt it would CAC (I would say it shouldn't CAC.)

Nevertheless, you have 2 excellent specimens!

I like them both and while the 83 might be a tad slightly over graded it looks a lot nicer than some 65's I have seen. Nice pair of coins.

Yes, I'm sure that Morgan looks even nicer in hand.
