my friend had a stack of these, from his late grandmother and tried selling them to a coin shop, but they told him they were not worth anything. he gave them to me. i could honestly care less, what they are worth. i like the way they look and most are uc. also the fact they don't use these anymore, makes me like them for some reason. the 1000's are from 1962 and the 500's are from 1967. anyone else have these in there collection?
Yes, I have some and quite like the old Lira/Lire notes. I put this thread together a while back to share: Italian Currency & AMC Issued in Italy
good thread krispy! i guess i should have done a search... i am not big on world coins, i prefer us coins. but foreign paper just looks great to me for some reason? especially these Italian notes. when i seen them i knew i had to have them. i was about to offer him some cash for them!
Nice notes, and I tend to agree about foreign coins vs. paper. I think US coinage is some of the best in the world, and really only collect it. On the other hand I think foreign paper money is far more interesting then US paper money. I would keep those notes too, they are very cool
