Here is an 1894-o that was posted in another thread, but those were the sellers pictures, and not as detailed, as well as a 78-s. The 78-s pictures show some brown crud, although it doesn't look brown in hand, only in the scan (which is odd). Please offer your opinions on both. Thanks!
Well, the first one may go for MS-63 if that's not wear I see on the hair and the second would be AU-50. B12
I think you guys are underestimating the second as it's an O. But I'll wait and see some other opinions.
The first one....MS61 maybe PL but I don't think so... MS61/2....not much luter...that would slow it down... Speedy
The first one is definitely pl, and most likely DMPL, but it's hard to see the luster from the pictures (scanner) . I can see a ruler's markings in the coin when the coin in 9 inches away from the ruler, and that is for both sides.
You said AU on that one...are you going to be sending it back since they guy said MS62??...I agree there isn't any luster but I took into the fact that this was a scan and a scan never shows luster.... Speedy
The luster isn't great. I have already sent it back to him, as I paid 750 for it, and i'm not up for gambling with several hundred. His original picture didn't show the big scratch on the eagle's breast, and I took it to Frank Greenberg, who is a GNP, and he doesn't think it will make 62. I haven't heard from the seller, but I only sent him a message about 4 hours ago, so I'm not worried. I did get sufficient proof that the coin was returned to him. There are also some scratches on the cheek that are hard to see, that didn't show up in his pictures.
MS-62 PL on the first one.. sorry, the eagle's breast and Liberty's forehead isn't singing the 63 song for me..and i don't think it'll go more than PL. AU-55 on the second one. It's not worth 750 and i would be tacking on about 15 more $ for the picture problems.
