I have got the following coins from Somaliland in my collection; 1994PM 1/- Bird. 2002 5/- Rooster. 2002 5/- Sir Richard Burton 2002 10/- Vervet monkey. & 2002 20/- Abyssinian terrier dog. The 1/- & 10/- are listed in Krause as is a silver 1,000 /-,which erronously has the coat-of-arms of Somalia. Has anyone seen these coins? Please email me at royalist0007@yahoo.co.uk .
Somaliland's coins would be of interest to those who are collecting coins of East Africa & the countries that formerly used East African currency.There is a very strong case for Somaliland to join the British Commonwealth. Aidan.
