IMHO , Looks like it was in the Ground and then over cleaned . I've got some like it . Mostly Nickels though as Pennies ( for Claire's benefit) and Silver are too important .
I really hate these threads where the OP Changes the title. Changes the initial post and deletes the pictures.. So weird!
I just changed the title and post so people don't have to waste time clicking on it if its already solved. If people don't like it tho, I will keep them up in the future
IMO, it's best to leave the original post. There is the possibility that future collectors can learn from it just as you did. There is no shame in posting a question if you (and others) learned something from it.
